Filming with a 3000 y/o bristlecone pine tree for Treeline. p: garrett grove
I was born in Toronto, Canada, and moved to Vancouver with my family when I was young. I felt at home in the mountains and on the ocean, and my relationship to those environments has been evolving ever since. For a decade I photographed skiing, cycling, and outdoor adventure professionally for publications and brands around the globe, and in 2010 began a transition to making films.
Each film is a collaboration under the umbrella Narrows Media, named for the place where tidal water rushes back and forth between Vancouver and the North Shore mountains, on the traditional unceded territories of the Musqueum, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. I am continually guided by producer Laura Yale, the creativity of Daniel Irvine, my brother Chad Manley, and other talented folks who duck under the umbrella often.
